Thrive Causemetics celebrates visionary women who stick to their goals
It feels good to buy products knowing that some of what you pay is money well spent. This is what Thrive Causemetics CEO and founder Karissa Bodnar had in mind back in 2015 when she rolled out her premium vegan “clean cosmetics” brand that would suit all users, including those with compromised immune systems. As most of Thrive’s beneficiaries are charities that help women thrive, every product is named after a woman dedicated to beating the odds and helping others do the same.
This is certainly the case with Thrive’s latest roll-out, a new range of Infinity Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks (US$26 each, and available exclusively at thrivecausmetics.com) in four fresh, inclusive, versatile, and natural hues that blend beautifully with every skin tone.
• Riji—Cocoa Shimmer: Riji Raha is the founder of Affirmation Darling, a brand created to help others feel empowered, confident, and inspired to follow their dreams. Riji was homeless for two years, but overcame adversity, and since then has helped many others rise up in similar situations.
• Dr Q—Caramel Bronze Shimmer: Dr Q, also known as La Quita ‘Q’ Frederick, Ed.D., is a leader and founding partner of the Frederick Firm. She has led many organizations (including Thrive Causemetics) in business coaching, leadership development, and DEI efforts.
• Gailon—Terracotta Matte: Gailon Wixson Pursley was diagnosed with cancer while in college, and is one of the early recipients of our Faux Lashes through our Bigger Than Beauty giving programme. Since then, she has graduated from school and now works as a social worker at Seattle Children’s Hospital, which is the same hospital where she received her cancer treatments.
• Nikki—Blush Gold Shimmer: Nikki Benjamin is a long-term Thrive Causemetics employee who has helped grow the business to where it is today. Nikki has always been willing to lend a helping hand no matter the circumstance, and truly embodies our giving mission of helping others thrive.
